This coming Saturday, 4th August, North Dean woods will be busy with the sound of people. Calderdale Council are putting on a Woodland Open Day and we will be there making charcoal and doing some green woodworking. There will also be a working horse pulling logs around and someone making those logs into planks, as well as lots of other exciting things to see and do.
It’s a really great chance to see what Calderdale Council are up to in North Dean woods, and how our coppice establishment fits into that. It’s a great chance to ask lots of questions and meet some of the few people who are managing woodlands in Calderdale.
Event directions are signed from the front of Clay House, West Vale, HX4 8AN. The event runs from 10am – 4pm. For more information see the Council website here.
