Woodland Volunteering Winter 2013-14

Blackbark are looking for volunteers to come and help us with our woodland management program around Calderdale. Now in it’s the third year, our volunteer scheme is a great opportunity to gain first hand experience of practical woodland skills, such as establishing coppice, making deer proof fencing, tool maintainence and safe working practice.

We ask people to commit to a week (ideally) to what can be physically demanding out door work in all weathers.

The weeks are Monday to Friday and begin on the following days, Oct 28th, Nov 4th, Nov 18th, Nov 25th, Dec 2nd, Jan 27th, Feb 3rd, Feb 24th, Mar 3rd and Mar 24th.

Accomodation is at Nutclough Housing Co-op, with hot showers, a kitchen and a warm dry floor to sleep on (bring roll mats and sleeping bags). There is no cost associated with these weeks, but a contribution to the housing co-op would be welcomed. We suggest around £15 per week.

Places are limited so please conact Keith on keith@blackbark.co.uk or 07733 784795 to book or for more information.
